#2014
Teklad
Global 14% Protein
*Product Description - 2014 Teklad Global 14% Protein
Rodent Maintenance Diet is a fixed formula, nutritionally balanced,
non-autoclavable diet containing a minimum of 14% protein and
3.5% fat. Scientific publications report that low fat, low protein
diets promote longevity and normal body weight in rodents. (* This diet
is also used to promote weight loss in obese rodents. Keep a watch on your
normal sized rodents that they don't lose too much weight. If they do
you should consider adding additional calories or switch to the #2016 or
#2018.) The #2014 does not contain alfalfa or soybean meal, thus minimizing the
occurrence of natural phytoestrogens. Absence of animal protein
and fish meal eliminates the presence of nitrosamines.
*Ingredients - Wheat middlings, ground wheat, ground
corn, corn gluten meal, calcium carbonate, soybean oil, dicalcium
phosphate, iodized salt, L-lysine, DLmethionine, choline chloride,
niacin, vitamin A acetate, biotin, pyridoxine hydrochloride,
thiamine mononitrate, vitamin D3 supplement, folic acid,
menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of vitamin K activity),
vitamin E supplement, vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin, calcium
pantothenate, ferrous sulfate, magnesium oxide, manganous oxide,
zinc oxide, copper sulfate, calcium iodate, cobalt carbonate,
chromium potassium sulfate.

This diet has slightly higher protein and fat than the #2014 so may
be a better choice for rats that can't maintain a healthy weight on the #2014.
While the #2016 doesn't have as much protein and fat as the #2018, the great
benefit of this diet is that it does not contain soybean meal like the #2018.

Global 18% Protein
Used for all phases for those people that prefer to use a
lower protein than the #8604.
*Product Description - This diet is designed and manufactured
with high quality ingredients. The 2018 diet contains a minimum
of 18% protein and 5% fat (Metabolizable Energy 3.3 kcal/g
13.7 MJ/kg). It promotes gestation, lactation, and consistent
growth of rodents. Absence of animal protein and fish meal eliminates
the presence of nitrosamines. Does not contain alfalfa, thus
lowering the occurrence of natural phytoestrogens.
*Ingredients - Ground wheat, ground corn, wheat middlings,
dehulled soybean meal, corn gluten meal, soybean oil, calcium
carbonate, brewers dried yeast, dicalcium phosphate, iodized

Mostly used by breeders for Lactating/Pregnant Females &
young (to 3 months)
*Product Description - This diet is designed to provide
optimum nutrition for rodents. It contains all the nutrients
essential for growth, maintenance, and reproduction. Many breeders
prefer to use this for the extra protein for their pregnant/lactating
moms and their young up to 3 months of age.
*Ingredients - Dehulled soybean meal, wheat middlings,
flaked corn, ground corn, fish meal, cane molasses, ground wheat,
dried whey, soybean oil, brewers dried yeast, dicalcium phosphate,
calcium carbonate, iodized salt, choline chloride, magnesium
